FEASIBILITY STUDY OF A NEW CAUSEWAY BETWEEN BAHRAIN AND SAUDI ARABIA

The study, which should be complete by the first quarter of 2015, concerns the feasibility of the construction of a second causeway between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, part of Qatar’s ambitious rail project whose initial aim is to adapt infrastructures to the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

CITEF, hired by SMART2, has played an important role in this study by conducting simulations to determine travel times, transport capacity and the required fleet, among other aspects. CITEF has helped this project receive a green light for later development by optimising resources, cutting costs and establishing several premises on which the design should be based.
