Driver Station: Replica of the locomotive driver desk.

Instructor Station: Allows creation and monitoring of training scenarios.

Observation Station: For additional oversight and analysis.

Key Features of the Simulation Modules that offer an immersive training experience:

• Highly detailed model of the Stadler DM locomotive (passenger and freight consists).

• Full dynamic model of the consist with on-train forces and pneumatic brakes simulation, which allows for very precise dynamic response

• 60 km line section between Dunedin and Milton.

• Latest state-of-the-art visual representation with 4k resolution graphics.

From the Instructor Station any kind of training scenarios may be created, associate them to courses and trainees and monitor those during the performance of the exercise. All that information is stored in a data base for analysis and record-keeping.

As part of the commissioning process, a two-day training course on the use of Hecoform, CITEF's training design and control tool, was provided to KiwiRail’s facilitators.

CITEF would like to extend our gratitude to the staff of Stadler and KiwiRail for their support throughout the project, and especially during this final stage, where their assistance and valuable feedback have been extraordinarily helpful.
