At the end of 2021, a simulation system was installed in their recently opened training centre in Madrid to provide training on Railway Traffic Regulations (RTR) and the use of the EURO 4000 locomotive.
The system consists of two simulators, one fixed and one portable, which reproduce the locomotive's driving desk equipment as well as the Train-Land and ASFA Digital systems. This allows access to the main elements of the locomotive, to put it into service or resolve available faults.
Both simulators simulate a 100 km-long line that includes all the obstacles and issues present in the RTR and can train drivers on different situations of degraded operation, time of day and weather.
The room also includes an instructor station from which to control the training on any of the simulators, create new exercises and monitor and act on them in real-time, as well as to evaluate the activity of each student, whose activity is recorded for later analysis. A second instructor station makes it possible to work with two instructors, or to divide the simulator into different locations, depending on the needs.
We thank MEDWAY for their trust in CITEF to carry out this project and we wish you to meet all your training objectives for 2022!
