The Center for Research in Railway Technologies (CITEF) was created in 1998 by Professor Carlos Vera, to meet a demand from the Spanish railway sector and develop knowledge and technological solutions within the Foundation for the Promotion of Industrial Innovation (F2I2). , For research, innovation, experimentation, study and teaching purposes within the area of ​​knowledge of railways. All this without profit and always pursuing the general interest within any technological area of ​​rail transport.

Thanks to its integration with the Foundation, CITEF has the necessary knowledge, resources and experience to undertake any type of project, regardless of its complexity or size.

Being a totally independent entity, CITEF cooperates under the client-partner model, with the main railway companies in Spain and internationally.

CITEF is a world leader in the development and application of advanced models and algorithms for the efficient reproduction by simulation of railway systems.

These achievements apply to the entire life cycle: both design, optimization, validation and verification, as well as training, operation and maintenance, covering a wide range of needs in the railway sector.

CITEF's greatest asset is made up of its human team, made up of professionals hired by the Foundation to carry out industrial projects, with the support of teachers from the Higher Technical School of Industrial Engineers of the Polytechnic University of Madrid in training work, Research, development and innovation.
