On March 30th 2018, CPTM inaugurated Line 13 between Engenheiro Goulart and Guarulhos International Airport. CITEF conducted the simulation environment for Siemens, the firm in charge of signaling this line, that will be used to verify the CCO functionality and to train the line’s traffic control operators.
The simulator consists of a line model, incorporating all the field elements that interact with the interlockings, the ATP-ATO and the CCO, as well as a traffic control module of trains circulating on the line, that follow signaling and regulating commands. The simulator exchanges information with the real interlockings, as well as with the real CCO, provided by Siemens. The simulation of the ATP-ATO system of the line and its integration with real elements has also been carried out.
This configuration makes it possible to verify all types of operating scenarios, their repercussions and course of action, which could be difficult to test upon the real line. These scenarios can include degraded situations such as false occupancies, damaged trains in the middle of the track, blocked switches, communications failures with components, etc.
The simulator system is therefore extremely useful not only for different operating situations and practices, but also for operator training tasks, providing a training environment interface identical to the real one.
