The Rail Driver Training Simulator developed by CITEF, in line with the Spanish Railway Operation Regulation (RCF), was installed at the ALSA Railway Training Centre in Madrid at the beginning of October.
The training system features the Driver Position, which recreates the cockpit of the Stadler Euro 4000 locomotive, and the Instructor Position, from where it is possible to configure a wide range of training scenarios, assign customised training plans for each student, and monitor the driver’s performance during training sessions by assessing their actions.
The simulator features a high-precision behaviour model of the locomotive, incorporating various types of breakdowns with the corresponding resolution procedures, mechanisms outside the driving cockpit, and multiple train configurations, programmed using ASFA Digital, Tren-Tierra, etc. It also features a recreation of a 100-km section of the Madrid-Valencia line of the Conventional Railway Network, which has been adapted to simulate all types of obstacles in the network and other training scenarios required to comply fully with the RCF.
Through this project, CITEF strengthens its presence in the Spanish Railway Training Centre sector with simulators already developed for CEFF, Transfesa, and now the railway area of ALSA.
